Dear Cardinal Family,
One behalf of Cleora School, it is a great honor to once again welcome everyone back for another amazing school year. We are excited to have all of our students, returning and new, back with us! We look forward to helping foster their dedication and enthusiasm for learning at a high level. We hope all of our families share that same excitement and we thank you for your support to ensure this happens.
As announced several weeks ago, we are blessed to be able to offer FREE breakfast and lunch once again. This will be the third year in a row for this great opportunity. We hope this will increase student participation while providing financial relief to our families. We also recently announced two new extra-curricular programs, 4-H and Golf. We are thrilled to be able add these new programs to our abundant student opportunities. Our goal is to offer various experiences for all students to be involved in activities and learning outside the classroom.
In other exciting news, we added a couple of new things to the school over the summer! We added more safety barriers and covers for our student loading area. This project allowed us to complete our student loading zone to ensure we provide a safe area for our students, staff, and families. Also, as you arrive to the school you will notice a new aerator fountain in our pond. Not only will this bring additional beauty to our amazing campus, it will also serve as an efficient tool to improve the water quality and keep the water clean and attractive. Coming soon you will begin to see a lot of construction occurring. Our building expansion project is expected to kick off in late September or October. While this will undoubtedly present some unique experiences throughout the school year, we know the final outcome is one we have been needing and all are excited to see!
As always, communication between the school and home is crucial. We utilize our “all-call” notification system to communicate through phone calls and texts. In addition, we have a school app that we encourage everyone to download. Be sure to allow “notifications” in order to stay up to date. If you have changed any contact numbers it is important to get those updated numbers to Lynelle in our office to ensure you continue to receive our communication. In regards to communication, please remember our “No Electronic Communication” policy. This is something we have had in place for many years, but recently has been brought to light across the state due to it now being a law. As a reminder, they are banned from bell-to-bell. We truly appreciate our families support in helping administer this.
In closing, it is a privilege to be serving as the Cleora Superintendent for what will be my 12th year! It is a blessing to be a part of a school where our board, parents, teachers, staff, families, and community share the same vision and goal of creating a learning environment that creates high levels of expectations and strong academic growth. I look forward to seeing everyone Tuesday night, August 12th for our Welcome Back Open House night and throughout the rest of the school year.
